In order to recharge and get motivated, it’s important to give yourself permission to pause and do something enriching for you. Summertime is a perfect time to recharge. The end of the school year can bring with it a realization that you are exhausted and drained. (article attached below) Self-care is crucial for our physical, emotional and mental well-being. There are potential effects of self-care to increase our effectiveness and influence positive student care outcomes. What made you struggle? What did you learn? What did you achieve? Whose lives did you touch? What do you want to accomplish in 2018-2019? What do you need to do to make that happen? Reflective practice, if done well, can greatly improve your skills as a health care provider. We need to take care of ourselves- reflect, relax and recharge.


As school nurses, we need to strengthen our resilience so in times of stress and adverse experiences, we can help those in our care.
